Last year saw 28.000 visitors meet with up to 795 exhibitors from 42 countries. This year the exhibition will take place from March 12th to 15th, and it's going to be even bigger. And believe us experienced show-goers, driving a bus or jogging is a necessity as the prolight+sound is not only big, but uses areas on both sides of the S-Bahn, which by the way, is undoubtedly the best way to reach the exhibition.
The Musikmesse part of the show will be found in halls 1 to 6, bit hall 4.1 will house some of the sound companies . The rest of the sound companies exhibiting will be found in hall 8.0, together with the installation, lighting, design and effect companies. The media systems exhibitors will present their products here to, including those from the fields of media technology, system integration and communication technology
Next door in hall 9.0 you'll find the theatre-, studio and stage products as well as the suppliers of stage technology and truss systems.
The prolight+sound Media Systems Congress is part of prolight+sound Media Systems. On the Conference Level of Hall 8.1, speakers will go into detail about new products, developments and the legal background to media technology and system integration. With around 35 lectures, the Media Systems Congress is the biggest information event at the fair. It is open to all visitors and is aimed, in particular, at planners, system integrators and architects.
Visitors venturing out the halls to the outdoor area will be able to see and hear equipment being demonstrated in practical settings at the Pro Stage and the Live Sound Forum. The Pro Stage is a festival stage set up to show all the important aspects of an open-air stage including stage construction, rigging, lighting systems and all aspects of safety during the construction phase and when operating a stage of this kind. The Pro Stage will also be the venue for seminars, workshops, product presentations and concerts. The Live Sound Forum will give exhibitors of audio and PA systems the chance to demonstrate their products under realistic conditions.
The Pro Lounge 2008 will once again be located in Galleria 1 and will provide the setting for the International Reception and the prolight+sound award ceremonies including two of the sector's most important honours : 'Opus – German Stage Prize' and 'Sinus – Systems Integration Award'. The Galleria will also host the prolight+sound Forum and the Job Bourse. prolight+sound Campus is in Hall 8.0. Here, visitors will find educational and training institutes. The Campus programme also includes lectures, seminars and workshops.
Prolight + Sound is supported by the Professional Lighting & Sound Association of Germany (Verband für Licht-, Ton- und Veranstaltungstechnik - VPLT) and the European Association of Event Centres (Europäischer Verband der Veranstaltungs-Centren - EVVC).
Admission tickets to prolight+sound also entitle holders to visit the international Musikmesse and vice versa. The price of admission includes the return journey to the fair using 2nd class local public-transport services operated by the RMV transport authority. Visitors have the opportunity to purchase and print out their admission tickets online
